薄荷
ハッカ、は和種薄荷（ニホンハッカ）と西洋薄荷、緑薄荷と色々な種類がありますが、ここでは和種薄荷を使用しています。和種薄荷はメントールという成分がミント前半の中でも最も多く含まれており、冷却・抗菌・消臭作用がみられます。薄荷の精油は10度前後の低温で結晶化（ハッカ脳）、メントールの塊となります。これが食品や化粧品、入浴剤や歯磨き粉などに使用されます。国内生産の和種薄荷の90%は北海道で生産されています。
